New Format!

Hello Everyone,

As you can see,  I have adopted the new "Dynamic" blog format.  It can be a little tricky but...
I chose it becasue it has some cool features.

If you go to the left hand side there is a pull down button titled magazine.  Go to that button right now and click on it.... You will see several different formats that enable you to view the blog in different ways.  This is so wonderful because it adapts to how you read/ see things.  For instance,  I am fond of the flipcard format.  It shows all the posts in image form.  Since art is a visual medium,  it is like a small art gallery.  By hovering over each image,  you can see who or what each image is about.  By clicking on each image, you can bring up the contents of the post.  Cool huh?

I'm made some changes to how I do things here at Discovering the World of Art.  Instead of asking folks to participate,  I'm leaving it open to you to submit.  I don't judge or weed out submissions.  If you go to the effort to submit,  you will be featured.  It is selfish on my part really.  I just love reading about artists and why they do what they do.  I figure we are all developing, learning, and growing.  Who am I to decide whose work is good or not.  You can go to my personal blog to read more about how I feel at www.mary-zeran.blogspot.com 

If you are interested in submitting,  go to the menu at the top and click on interview instructions.

Another change is to feature show cards of upcoming exhibitions and events.  To get your event shown,  email me a jpg. image of your card and I will feature it.  I might even come to the opening.

Stats...  Believe it or not,  this blog has been visited 17,000+ times in the past year!  We have a regular daily readership of about 200 people.  (I can't believe this myself).  Most of the followers are from the US but, we do have many people from Germany, Australia, and England, who check in from time to time.  Other countries of note are Estonia, Russia, Thailand, and Brazil.  Interesting huh?

Thank you for all your support.  This blog t has connected me with the Iowa art community and art world at large.  It has truly been a discovery!
